Introduction

International Yoga Day, celebrated on June 21st every year, is a global event that highlights the importance and benefits of practicing yoga. Following this proposal, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the resolution with the support of 177 member countries, declaring June 21st as International Yoga Day.

This date was chosen because it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere, marking a special significance in many cultures and is considered important as the first International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2015, with record participation.

1. To promote yoga globally and increase awareness of its benefits and practice.

2. To encourage healthy lifestyles of citizens by integrating yoga into daily routines.

3. To spread awareness about the holistic approach of yoga that combines physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being.
