Patience is strength

Once upon a time, in a quiet village called Sundervan, lived a boy named Arjun. Arjun was very smart and hardworking, but he was also very impatient. He always wanted things to happen quickly and easily, and when they didn’t, he would get upset and give up.

Patience is strength

Arjun lived with his father, a farmer. They had a small piece of land where they grew vegetables. Arjun watched as his father worked every morning and evening, planting seeds, watering the plants, and caring for them until they were ready to be harvested. But Arjun didn’t understand why his father put so much effort and waited so long for the plants to grow.

One day, Arjun said to his father, "Why do you work so hard every day? Why wait for months to get vegetables when we can just buy them from the market?"

Arjun’s father smiled and replied, "My son, nature has its own pace. The seeds we plant today will bear fruit when the right time arrives. If we try to rush it, the results will not be good. In life, patience is necessary for things to flourish."

Arjun didn’t understand. "But why wait when we can have things quickly?" he asked.

His father said, "Let’s do an experiment. I will give you two seeds. Plant one in a small pot and water it every day. I will plant the other in the garden. Let’s see which one grows better."

Arjun was excited. He quickly planted the seed in the pot and watered it every day. But after a few days, he grew impatient. The seed didn’t seem to be growing fast enough. In frustration, he dug it out and tried planting another seed. He kept repeating this every few days. Meanwhile, the seed in the garden quietly kept growing.

After a few weeks, Arjun noticed that the seed in the garden had become a tiny plant. It was strong and growing well. Meanwhile, none of the seeds he kept planting and digging out had a chance to take root.

Arjun felt disappointed and went to his father. "Why does the seed in the garden grow, but mine doesn’t?" he asked.

His father replied, "My son, when you plant a seed, it needs time, care, and patience to grow. You kept digging out the seed, hoping it would grow faster, but instead, you stopped it from growing. The seed in the garden grew because we gave it the time it needed. This is a lesson for you: All good things take time and patience."

Arjun felt ashamed but also grateful for this lesson. From that day, he stopped rushing things and started practicing patience. Slowly, he learned that patience makes a person stronger and wiser.

With this new understanding, Arjun worked hard in the fields, just like his father. Together, they grew vegetables and reaped a bountiful harvest. Arjun learned that every effort needs patience, and every seed needs its own time to bear fruit.

Years later, Arjun became a successful farmer. He would tell this story to every young person in the village, reminding them of the lesson he learned from a tiny seed and a patient father.

Moral of the Story

Patience is a strength. All things take their own time to grow and bear fruit. If we have patience, we can achieve great things in life.
